Kansas City, Missouri – Kansas City residents looking to get ahead of flu season can now check one item off their fall health list. The Kansas City Health Department has begun offering the 2026–2027 seasonal influenza vaccine at its Troost Avenue clinic.
The rollout includes more than one vaccine option and is open to people with different insurance situations. Both regular flu vaccines and egg-free flu vaccines are available for eligible patients.
The Kansas City Health Department is providing the vaccines to uninsured and underinsured adults, uninsured and underinsured children, and patients who have private health insurance.
Vaccinations are being administered at the department’s offices at 2400 Troost Ave. in Kansas City, Missouri.
The clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesday hours are extended, with the clinic remaining open from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Residents who want to reserve a time can schedule an appointment by calling 816-513-6108. Walk-ins are also accepted, although availability will depend on the number of appointments already scheduled and the supply of vaccine at the time of the visit.
While the new seasonal flu vaccine is now available, the department said residents seeking an updated COVID-19 shot will have to wait.
KCHD has seen an increase in requests for COVID-19 vaccines, but the 2026–2027 formulation is not currently available at the department’s offices. Health officials said an update will be released once the new formulation is available for administration.

The distinction is important for residents planning to receive multiple seasonal vaccines during the same period. For now, the Health Department can provide the 2026–2027 flu vaccine, while the updated COVID-19 vaccine remains unavailable through its clinic.
Those planning a flu vaccination can either make an appointment in advance or attempt a walk-in visit during regular clinic hours.
