Program encourages Kansas City International Airport travelers to slow down smile and show patience from September 4 to 14

Date:

Kansas City, Missouri – This month, Kansas City International Airport is focusing on kindness in the way it treats its passengers. The airport is asking tourists to slow down, smile, and be more patient on their trips with a new program dubbed “Fly Kind.” The campaign runs from September 4 to 14, which is around the anniversary of September 11, a period when many people think about community and strength.

According to airport officials, the goal of the campaign is to make everyday travel more enjoyable. Melissa Cooper, the Kansas City Aviation Department’s Director of Aviation, said that even tiny things may make a difference.

“Sometimes the smallest gestures can have the biggest impact,” said Melissa Cooper, Director of Aviation for the Kansas City Aviation Department. “Through Fly Kind, we want to remind passengers that a smile, a kind word, or a simple act of courtesy can make the entire travel experience brighter for everyone.”

As part of the campaign, there will be interactive elements in the terminal that will keep the theme going. A bright “Kindness Selfie Wall” is a space for pictures and short videos, where travelers can submit their own positive messages. The free baggage tags that say “carry kindness” are both a keepsake and a reminder every day.

The airport is also extending the movement online. People who are traveling can share short videos on social media on what kindness means to them. They should use the hashtag #FlyKind and tag the airport in the videos. The goal is to start a chain reaction that reaches beyond Kansas City and inspires people wherever they go.

The show has a fun tone, yet it has a deeper meaning. Traveling can be stressful because of delays, long queues, and other things. MCI wants to develop a tone that makes the experience better for both individuals and the community of travelers by inviting passengers to focus on respect and connection.

The City of Kansas City, Missouri, owns the Kansas City Airport System as an enterprise fund. Airport user fees, not local taxes, pay for its operations. FlyKC.com has further information about the campaign and other airport services. The airport also shares updates on its social media accounts.

“Fly Kind” is more than just a tagline for MCI; it’s a reminder that flying can be more fun when people choose to be patient and positive.
